Why theater?: Because we need it! Think about the most pleasurable experiences in life - like sex. Would you rather do it over the phone, or in person? There's nothing better than real, person-to-person, in-the-moment contact. It's the most direct means of communication between performer and audience; it's immediate and it's exciting.

Tell us about The Only Child: Dark and Brilliant. We are working with a text penned by rising playwright Jessica Hinds. Imagine that Sarah Kane and Harold Pinter have come back to life as one person, only with new ideas to share, new ways to do it, and a smart head of fiery red hair; have that image in your head? Now complicate it any ten ways you'd like, and you'll have a rough sketch of Jessica. She writes in a way that not many people can, and she does it with razor sharp skill. Part of the material's brilliance is that it consciously challenges you; both the performer and the audience member. It throws things in your face, and laughs if you turn away. We've also got a tremendous director steering the ship: Liz Carlson. She and Jessica have collaborated before and they know exactly what they're doing. PLUS, it's got full nudity, weapons use, and dirty words! #TheseAreAfewOfMyFavoriteThings......

What is it like to be a part of The Only Child?: Exciting and demanding. As a performer, once you dive into the world of this play you need a step ladder to help bring you back out. Luckily we can do that for each other. Having a strong and capable team is the only way to do things right, and this motley crew does it right.

What kind of theater speaks to you? What or who inspires you as an artist?:
Anything that makes me cry. I love crying!

What is it like being a part of FringeNYC?: Like being thrown into a blender with 200 of your favorite people. It makes for a good smoothie, I swear.

Any role you’re dying to play?: Jamie in The Last Five Years

What show have you recommended to your friends?: I loved Austin Pendleton's direction of Three Sisters at Classic Stage this season. But that ship has sailed. DO YOU LIKE TO CRY? BECAUSE IF SO... No just kidding. BUT I've heard some really good things about Sleep No More.

What’s up next?: Well I just auditioned to play Hitler. No really. A young Hitler. THAT was crazy. The whole thing takes place at a dinner party before Adolph Hitler has really become "Adolph Hitler." Don't know if I'll get the part, but the play is wonderful so I thought I'd give it a shout out. It's called MARCH.
