Now that the 2010-2011 Tony season has come to a close, it's that time of the year to announce plans for new pieces coming to the Great White Way. And of course what's disappearing to make way. Today, we got announcements that Emily Mann will direct Blair Underwood in the 9th revival of A Streetcar Named Desire.
Also coming is the Kathleen Marhsall helmed Nice Work If You Can Get It starring Matthew Broderick. And finally the Lincoln Center smash Other Desert Cities will be finding a home at the Booth Theater, sans Linda Lavin. And disappearing on June 25th is the Ben Stiller, Edie Falco revival of House of Blue Leaves.
So a "new" musical, a stylized revival, and a transfer from Off-Broadway. How do we feel? Excited? Unimpressed? Personally, I'm ready for the next batch of announcements. Maybe within there'll be something fresh.
