Why theater?: Because theater gives me a feeling like nothing else in life. To not only entertain, but to start a conversation. Human emotion in it's rawest form on display for all to take in, the high the lows. Theater can be and should be a life changing event for both the audience and the performer.
Who do you play in Endless Air, Endless Water?: Ditch Sullivan, a media savvy astronaut with an entrepreneurial mindset. Think a flawed Ryan Seacrest in space.
Tell us about Endless Air, Endless Water: A space play, about two astronauts who struggle with their sexual identities inside a small Apollo style space capsule on their way to the moon. The cast also includes Mission Control and my Fiance back on Earth via a video screen.
What is it like being a part of Endless Air, Endless Water?: Amazing. It feels remarkable to be part of such a talented group of individuals. I've also really enjoyed the character research that comes with playing an Astronaut as well, researching the Great Space Race, and the resulting lunar missions. Not to mention the gym sessions to get me into Space shape.
What kind of theater speaks to you? What or who inspires you as an artist?: I enjoy theater with social commentary. I Directed a Production of Bert V. Royal's Dog Sees God, a past FringeNYC participant. Avenue Q and Spring Awakening are also all time favorites of mine. Sam Shepard, Edward Albee, and Neil LaBute all have a prominent place on my bookshelf.
Any roles you’re dying to play?: I'm big on original plays these days (let's give some new talent a chance), but I would love to play any character conceived from the above playwrights.
What’s your favorite showtune?: Ohhhhh tough one. I can't do it. Here is a top 5 in no particular order: "Defying Gravity", "Touch Me", "Put On Your Sunday Clothes", "Mama Says", and "96,000".
If you could work with anyone you’ve yet to work with, who would it be?: Anyone sitting on the Broadway League Board of Governors: Robert E. Wankel, Sue Frost, Jordan Roth, the list goes on. About a year ago I had the chance to meet Hugh Jackman, I'd share the stage with The Boy from Oz any day.
Who would play you in a movie about yourself and what would it be called?: Logan Lerman staring in "Patrick Judd: Sea of Monsters". I mean the guy held his own against a cyclops, Nazis, and Emma Watson. Kudos to you sir.
If you could go back in time and see any play or musical you missed, what would it be?: I'm going way back to 429 BC to see Sophocles' Original Staging of Oedipus the King. Talk about a classic.
What show have you recommended to your friends?: Besides Endless Air, Endless Water I have recommended Far From Canterbury, Popesical, Hard Day's Night, and Petition for an Alien Fiance to name just a few.
What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?: Shopping. You can find me in a Midtown H&M all too often.
What’s up next?: Advanced screening of the Feature Film, "True Fear", that stars yours truly. Hopefully hanging out with J. Law and B. Cooper. (Hey, a guy can dream)
