Why theater?: because I live a hundred lives in one.
Who do you play in Body?: In Body I play Nadezhda (the name means hope in Russian) - model & cancer survivor, a character based on my life.
Tell us about Body: It's much easier to show ;) Body is a journey through a human body-literal and metaphorical. It shows how we all touch each other's lives (often without realizing it), and we hope it sends you home with a message, a different one for each audience member.
What is it like being a part of Body: Ask my liver ;) -We are one organism, I love my ensemble, they are the people who I trust with my life.
What kind of theater speaks to you? Who or what inspires you as an artist?: Visceral and impactful. Mark Rylance(always and forever), and I just saw Gillian Anderson in Streetcar at St. Anne's- it gave me an extra inspiration lift I needed.
Any roles you’re dying to play?: Not dying yet but here: Margarita (in Master & Margarita),Maya Plisetskaya, Cleopatra, Medea, Lucille Ball, anybody on Game of Thrones or Penny Dreadful :)
What’s your favorite showtune?: What's a showtune?
If you could work with anyone you’ve yet to work with, who would it be?: Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, and Daniel Craig (I'll gladly play a piece of the set just to be close and watch them work).
Who would play you in a movie about yourself and what would it be called?: It will be called “Red Storm” and I'd be played by Cate Blanchett.
If you could go back in time and see any play or musical you missed, what would it be?: I would go to see Maya Plisetskaya dance The Swan, Carmen and Anna Karenina.
What show have you recommended to your friends?: Cityscapes by Broken Box Mime Theater or anything by The Mad Ones.
What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?: I never feel guilty for experiencing pleasure.
What's up next: Chaplin plays with Nylon Fusion theater company and The Flow with ETC at Planet Connections theater festival in June, dance tour to Japan in July and getting married in October!
