Over at Bawdy Bingo, there's fun and games and of course a show. But what makes this little bingo show different is the community feel at Albatross. Whether all the regulars are there or not, hostesss Gilda Wabbit ensures you're a part of the family. Joining Gilda's bingo family for the night was none other than Misty Mountains, now known as DJ Mossy Knolls. Sprinkling in some live singing throughout the night, Gilda guides the crowd through four rounds of bingo. The winner of each round gets their shot at spinning the prize wheel which includes such prizes as a shot, a drink, a bottle of wine, and of course, a cash prize. As a competitive person, I had to have my hand in each round. Sadly, Gilda did not call my balls and made me a four-time loser. It wouldn't be a Gilda Wabbit show if it didn't include live singing. While she busted out the classics, it was her special guest that surprised the crowd with a live singing country tuner of her own. The Gilda fans clamored for her classics, including the wickedly naughty parody of "Defying Gravity" entitled "Double Penetration," Misty debuted a new sex-ed mix, featuring an array of freshly unpackaged, or so she said, toys. If there's one thing that's true about this show, the title doesn't shy away from the truth! Bawdy Bingo is everything that it claims to be.

She's the fishiest merqueen on the scene and she's here on Block Talk! In this episode, Bella Noche reveals all!

Who doesn't like a party? Every Saturday night at Hardware, Lagoona Bloo and Ruby Roo host SLAY Saturdays, a dance party like no other. The room is filled with haze and the beats, from the amazing DJ 2 Face, are pulsating. There's sweat dripping off of bouncing bodies. The dance floor is a home to those ready to let loose and wiggle until their heart's content. Rather than back to back shows, Ruby and Lagoona mingle with the kids and turn the party with pop up shows. There's something about nostalgia that seems to work wonders here at SLAY. Lagoona danced the night away with some Britney Spears and "Fergalicious." Ruby took on a little Panic at the Disco with "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" firmly planting herself on the stage and serving emo pop. You can bet nearly every single person in that room knew the lyrics. Their individual energies are exactly what an event like this needs.
Dancing isn't for everyone. But sometimes you need to blow off some steam. So when dancing is on the menu, look no further than Hardware on a Saturday night. At SLAY Saturdays, you get dancing and a show. What can be better than that?

If you thought the drama on Drag Race was good, oh honey, you missed the drama at the penultimate week of Ultimate Drag Pageant Season 6! With the theme being "Show Us Your Best," the nine competitors came out slaying. Hosts Marti Gould Cummings and Nedra Belle were joined by the some of New York's best, FiFi DuBois and Ritzy Bitz. With only so many slots available for the grand finale, the girls were given some tough critiques to prepare them. Starting the show off with an homage to her showgirl life, Tiffany Anne Coke put her sexy twist on "Mein Herr" from Cabaret. With pipes to the rafters, Shelby Late belted her heart out with "Glitter in the Air," a number that is at the top of her repertoire. With no wig to be seen, Bambi dazzled the crowd in a new way with her political number themed toward gun violence. With a brilliant concept and a bold risk, Carlos the Uber Driver got in face on stage with a tribute to "The Birdcage" with La Cage's "A Little More Mascara." Celah Doore bore all with her heartfelt performance dedicated to her coarse journey into the world of drag. With an unfortunate track mishap to blame, Gina Tonic's "I Will Survive" money making performance was sadly cut short. Bringing her exceptionally twisted view on performance art, Foolisha dominated with an insane Joan of Arc inspired performance that was nothing short of captivating. Bringing steam punk to "Steam Heat," Allura Borealis provided one of her strongest looks yet. Rounding out the night was easily one of the best performances in the entire competition as Nicole Onoscopi finally paid tribute to her name with a colonoscopy mix featuring an actual "colonoscopy" on stage.

It was time to make a chop before the finale. With three girls in the bottom three, how many would the judges send home. Lip Syncing to "Hush Hush," it was Allura, Celah, and Gina. Perhaps inspired by the Drag Race episode that aired only hours before, Gina Tonic bowed out of the competition, with the judges justly saving Allura and Celah. It was a sad way to see the seasoned queen go, but like her song, she will survive. Once again, the judges and I were in agreement as Nicole Onoscopi, who received a standing ovation from the guest judges, won the week, securing her third victory of the competition. If it's Saturday at Pieces, it must be time a ton of shenanigans from Bootsie Lefaris as she hosts Sinful Saturdays! Joined by guests Tina Burner and Egypt, Sinful Saturday was an evening of hilarity from the queens, and the drunk crowd alike. Bootsie dazzled the crowd with her array of mixes. She gave the crowd Cher, Celine, and a spirited R&B mix. Bootsie has this magical power where she'll tell the crowd that she'll sing happy birthday impersonating celebrities and then skimming and skipping right over. And they clamor for it! That takes talent! Only tipsy and/or drunk people believe that Christina Aguilera is behin the curtain ready to sing the birthday song. When it's game time, Bootsie introduces us to her new friends, the straight boys from Ireland. Like a good host, she asked them when the last time they licked pussy, and well, they were speechless. Tina Burner looked stunning and stunned the crowd with her hilarious "Shade" mix. She's Tina Burner and she has something to say! Deemed a baby queen, Egypt wowed the crowd looking identical to Jennifer Lopez during her J.Lo mix and dancing the house down with "Proud Mary," tricks and reveals and all. During the Drag Suicide, DJ Xavier played a fun trick by matching Britney's "You Drive Me Crazy" with Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" with Patsy Cline's "Crazy." For those paying attention, it was hilarious.
It's straight up sinful the amount of fun these three had. Sinful Saturdays is a great way to blow off some steam and have a great night with your friends.

It’s Saturday which means it’s time for Get Happy Hour at Pieces! Or as this Saturday was retitled, what’s inside Vita Summers’ closet! A lively crowd filled Pieces as they escaped the rain for Vita’s little stunt show. Joined by special guests Lauren Odair and Mama Mela, the show was filled with their best. Mamma Mela spent her day using it as a platform to raise money for the Gay Men’s Chorus. And the tips flew straight to her! Vita and Lauren used most of the afternoon showing off their insane pipes. Vita sang Celine, while throwing some light shade toward someone who would grace the stage later that evening in another show. Lauren Odair sang “Let’s Hear It For the Boy” and a little ditty from Aida. But their duets were some of the most beautiful things you might ever hear. Whether it was their “Get Happy/Happy Days” duet or their Dollar Duet to “It’s All Coming Back to Me,” they left you begging for more. It wouldn’t be a drag show if there weren’t surprises. Two “famous” faces, and by famous I mean people in the scene, came and left their mark. Logan Hardcore stole a mic and recounted a recent Get Happy Hour where she accidently punched Vita in the face. The dynamic between Logan and Vita is 100% hilarious. The other surprise was indragnito Cherry Poppins who sang a lovely duet with Vita. How could they not sing “Suddenly Seymour?” Vita is one of those queens who can do it all. She can tell a joke, she can twirl, she can belt, and she can turn a look. She brought so many looks with her, but it was her leotard that lit up that won the night. She turned on the green lights for Lorde’s “Green Lights” and it was everything.
Vita Summers can make a rainy day seem bright. A show truly is determined by the energy of a crowd. If the crowd is eager for a show, the performers are eager to entertain. Lucky for us, Vita had an audience living for all the shenanigans she had to offer.

The 70s were in high gear at Turn Back Time. Hosted by Misty Mountains with special guest Whendy Whaxwood, it was all 70s inspired numbers from the duo with a little trivia and guess the tune thrown in. After starting the night off with a high energy rendition of “Knock On Wood,” the disco era played a big part in the set list, though a little Fleetwood Mac was thrown in to balance everything out. Misty proved she was “The Boss” when she took on Diana Ross. Whendy leaned into the world of 70s inspired showtunes with “I Gotcha” as not performed by Liza Minelli and “What I Did for Love” from A Chorus Line. The crowd may have been a little subdued but it didn’t stop Misty and Whendy from having a good time. When it did come to the game, this crowd was perhaps not the smartest and failed pretty miserably. As Misty herself said, “I’m the problem, usually I’m the solution.”
Turn Back Time is a fun way to celebrate a moment in our history. Incorporating a theme ensures that each show you attend will be unique and different, and sometimes in the world of drag, that can be rare. But know that if you don’t have cash on hand to tip Misty or Whendy in the future, they willingly will accept fries and Nutella.

Show: Make It Work Mondays

I’m low key obsessed with Brenda Dharling. When I first started critically watching drag, Distorted Diznee was one of the first shows I saw. From that night, Brenda was one that I loved. In that show, she showcases her dance and mix ability. But when you give her a mic, she’ll do all that and more, because the bitch is hilarious! Not only is a seasoned and winning queen of the pageant circuit, she is easily one of the best performers New York City has to offer. Mondays at Barracuda, she hosts Make It Work Mondays alongside her partner in crime, DJ Natazu. If you haven’t seen a Brenda solo show, one of the reasons why she makes it work, pun intended, is the fast-thinking man controlling the sound. DJ Natazu fires away sound bites and clips that add an extra boost of hilarity for Brenda to play off of. Ending a long holiday weekend, Brenda was fortunate to have some crazy, kooky characters in the audience. Between 2 $20 tip Reggie who didn’t know that you can’t tip into the top of a nude illusion and high Brian (put an accent somewhere in there to pronounce his name as he did) from Europe, this Monday was off the charts. We also were introduced to a real life girl named Mona Lisa who actually does smile. Her set list included the fresh off the presses rendition of Fergie’s imaginative version of the “Star Spangled Banner,” a Dua Lipa/Beyonce mash up, her infamous Norway Butter Crisis mix, and a tribute to the Canadians in the house for their victory in Olympic Ice Dancing.
Make It Work Mondays is a hoot and a half. If you need to blow off steam, Brenda Dharling is bound to entertain you. She will dance the house down and tell you stories upon stories. I can’t wait for her to come back from South Africa as I’m sure her chronicles will be epic.
